Monday morning musings

Well, the cable news and the Weather Service got great ratings because of the hurricane. This one impacted a lot of heavily populated States so it was the major thing on a lot of people's minds. It could have been a lot worse. Floods are bad anywhere but it's not like New Orleans which is like a bowl.  Once water got in there it couldn't get out.  In the Northeast it just flows on down.

I noticed that Michele Bachman, one of the GOP presidential candidates, thinks because of the hurricane and the earthquake that God is trying to tell us that our government spending is out of control, deficit, deficit, deficit.  I wonder if that's the same God that tells women in Texas to kill their kids.  Sometimes the voices in your head mean you're just nuts, not listening to God.  Not saying that she's nuts but I don't think she's playing with a full deck.

This week the US Open Tennis Championship opens in New York City.  They are saying they are starting on time this morning.  Wheeeee.  I've got my next two weeks taken care of.  And for the last five days my computer has been working so I can blog.  I do find a virtual keyboard to be a pain to type on.  So I'll try to be a bit more active.
